Millions of
gallons per day flow past Venice and spreads out into one of
the largest brackish water estuaries in the world.
The
extremely fertile rich waters from the american heartland spread
out after reaching
Venice creating habitat for the most diverse fishing to be found
in the continental US.
A
cast into these bountiful water could bring a strike from a 5
lb Largemouth
or a 30 lb. Red fish. The shorelines abound with Speckled Trout,
Redfish, Flounder and numerous other species. We we even get
a run of Striped Bass every year.
In
2003 the
Bassmaster
Classic was won in the Venice area. Contenders willingly
made a 2 hours trip one way just to fish the Venice area. Unfortunate
some days, the Pro Bass Anglers complained that they couldn't
get the Redfish to leave them alone.
The
Pro RedFish Circuit hears similar complaints that they would
have their sights set on a big red when a 3 lb. bass crashed
their topwater
plug.
What a problem to have!
